3D Modeling Software
At Craters & Freighters, we use SolidWorks, a popular 3D CAD (computer-aided design) software that is widely used in various industries, including automotive, aerospace, architecture, consumer goods, and manufacturing. With it’s powerful tools, including the ability to draw using either parts or assemblies, rendering and other tools, we are able to custom design precise packaging and create drawings for production crates.
STEP, IGES and other common files produced by most 3D modeling software and design foam, corrugated, and plywood packaging contoured to the shape of customer products are accepted. We are then able to output those designs from the 3D model to be cut on our precision cutting tables and CNC machines.
Notable projects have been airplane wing parts, automotive parts, and a 30ft Sailfish statue 3D scanned with a drone!
